Starting too young or trying to sound like some famous star is useless if it leads to irreparable damage and an end to any singing ability!

At Florida Enrichment Academy, singers develop their own unique singing voice. They learn how to balance and control airflow to produce their own natural voice without overworking and overusing their vocal cords.

In addition to appropriate breathing, voice lessons teach phonation, resonance, diction and musical expressiveness, sight singing, harmonizing and reading music. Choice of repertoire depends on the student’s voice and personal preferences.

Straining the vocal cords leads to painful swelling, hoarseness of voice, and eventually damage to the vocal cords.

For children younger than 10 years old
A combination lesson of piano and voice is taught. Emphasis is put on music reading, piano playing and proper breathing to protect young student’s developing vocal cords. Students will learn to sing in a natural and healthy manner while they learn to play the piano.

For Older Children – 10 to 18 years old
Voice lessons alone are appropriate. However, correct breathing techniques and use of the student’s natural voice are critical. By emphasizing these aspects, Florida Enrichment Academy voice lessons enable the student to explore their vocal range and develop an exciting, yet healthy singing voice.
