Studies show that music lessons increase creative intelligence and contribute to success in school and success in life.
One researcher states “The musician is constantly adjusting decisions on tempo, tone, style, rhythm, phrasing and feeling – training the brain to become incredibly good at organizing and conducting numerous activities at once. Dedicated practice of this orchestration can have a great payoff for lifelong attention skills, intelligence and an ability for self-knowledge and expression.”
Students who take music lessons received more academic honors and awards and made better grades in high school. They also scored higher on SAT college entrance tests.
Sixty-six percent of music majors who applied to Medical Schools were accepted. Only forty-four percent of next highest major – which was biochemistry – were accepted.
Individuals who play a musical instrument earn higher lifetime incomes than those who do not!
